Literacy Experiment

Hi blogger's,
Today I will be talking a literacy.  In literacy we have been doing experiment this week we have done one of the experiments was that we had celery and sprite and we had to see how high it would climb on the celery and then we put that into data.

Hypothesised result
Celery will ‘drink’ the sprite and perform capillary action.
Celery will ‘drink’ the sprite and perform capillary action.
Time and distance result
After 5 minutes the coloured water got to about 5 and a half centimetres up the celery.
After 5 minutes the coloured sprite reached about an inch up the celery.
Actual result
The water was more effective on the celery as it climbed higher in the celery than the sprite.
The celery did not react with the sprite well.
Items Used
Water- food colouring
Sprite - food colouring
Have you ever done a test on celery?

Maths

Hi Bloggers,
In maths we have been focusing on algebra patterns. For the start we learnt about Fibonacci patterns and then we started going into more complex patterns. With the more complex patterns we had to find out the rule and then work out the sequence pattern and then we had to do the 10th number in the pattern then the 20th number in the pattern and then at last we had to do the 50th pattern. So lets say the rule was going to be x times 3 + 2 the x stand for the number and then you time that by 3 and plus 2 it sounds very complex but once you understand it it becomes easy.

Website Link

Hi Bloggers,

Comic with friends YAY!

Hi Bloggers,
This week in Inquiry we have been making a comic strip with your friends. We had to base this comic strip around irony.
If you think of irony you probably think of some situation and that is not even slightly related to what irony truly is.
The situational irony which is one of the three types of irony is shown when something unexpected happens like this comic strip I made with good mates of mine. We made this to make you laugh.
Have you ever made a comic strip before about irony?

Maths

Hi Bloggers,
This week in maths we have been looking at angles and polygons. We have been determining the interior angles of a shape as well as drawing some shapes using a compass- not a North/South compass, but a pair of compasses that you draw circles with.
A little run down of my knowledge is this.
And here are some examples of the work we have done on angles.

Have you ever drawn anything other than a circle with a compass? Here is the link to a tutorial showing you how to do it. Have a go!
